motor burns out on carpet August 14, 2010 Matt We bought one for each of our girls who absolutely loved them...until they stopped working. I didn't see any warning against using them on the carpet and that is the only reason I can guess as to why the motor on both of them burned up after only 2 days for one and 4 days for the other. We have replaced them both (2 days ago) with a new rule to keep them off of the carpet in hopes that the carpet was indeed the problem. Even if the carpet was the problem it does not bode well for the durability of this toy.
SO BAD!! August 9, 2010 Bill This pillow is sooo uncomfortable, I would never buy it again. It is such a bad product, it isn't even soft. I slept on it for 3 days and was so disappointed that I threw it in the dump. IT STINKS!!!!!!!!
FIx this Hamster August 4, 2010 Avalon (Boise, ID) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When (not if) your hamster stops running !!change the batteries!!. This is almost always the fix. If it still makes noise but doesn't drive, change the batteries. The ones that come in it often don't work more than a very short while.
Seriously, stop returning them all. The batteries that come with them run down as they get jostled in boxes and poked at the store. They aren't meant to last anyways.
It really is that simple.
Broke after one day then replacement broke after one day!! CRAP July 27, 2010 Alison Kay Buck (OGDEN, UT, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter wanted this toy most of all. They were super picked over at Walmart but I spent 40 bucks on the house, accessories and hamster that they had left. After she opened her presents she played with the hamster for about 3 hours and then it stopped working.
She used her own birthday money to get a replacement and it also stopped working the same way in about 2 hours. We are taking them back for a refund and maybe try again. But, to see her use her own money to buy a toy that brakes instantly is braking my heart and really making me mad. For the price, these toys could be much better made.
I am also going to look for a similar toy that is better made that might work in the house that keeps killing the zhu zhu hamsters!
The other thing that bugs me is that in Chinese you pronounce the word ZHU like Jew not zoo.
Not Just For Kids.... June 3, 2010 Sheila V (Western New York) Not only is Mr Squiggles, the Zhu Zhu in question, not JUST for kids, it's definitely for adults with nothing to lose. I bought this guy at a reasonable price before the Big Hype hit, & I gave him to my 65-year old husband for Christmas. Squig has been a non-stop hit ever since, not so much for his ability to crash into things, to get stuck in unlikely places in the house (& to sometimes pull out blobs of dust from under never-before-cleaned nooks & crannies), & to occasionally extricate himself efficiently, but for his alarm clock propensities. I am my husband's alarm clock, & Mr Squiggles's assortment of noises, accessible through the simple nose-beep, work better than any device I have ever tried. And they get said husband out of bed with a chuckle, an event not to be taken lightly. The naysayers see far too many things through their children's eyes ~ grow Down, & have your own opinion. And DO NOT pay the big bucks... for any flash in the pan. We don't even pay for TV.
