Excellent but expensive August 29, 2010

I have never used a foil type head before. It does a very good job but takes a bit longer than the rotary head shavers I have had for the past 35 years. It takes some time to get used to this unit. I have no disappointments other than the price. Operationally, the unit is excellent. I don't like the cleaning feature because it is not needed. Having it doesn't affect performance, it is just a wonderment that is not necessary. Overall, I rate this unit as very good. I didn't give it 5 stars due to price and the unnecessary cleaning feature. Otherwise the unit is excellent.

Just got this in the mail and really pleased. I have not purchased a shaver in over 15yrs and did a lot of research before buying again. Glad I got this one!! Shave is extremely close and I would recommend to others who are looking for a new shaver. The only thing I do not care to much for is having to purchase the cleaning fluid modules but I guess it is worth it since I do not have to clean it myself. I work and live in Germany and will be going on vacation to Rome for 10 days next month. I will see how well it operates away from the main unit.

I had a Braun Series 5 for about 5 years and it did a great job, so when it quit working I "upgraded" to the Series 7. What a mistake. This things does nothing very well and costs much more. It pulls hair, doesn't shave close and the postion of the trimmer makes it very difficult to see what you are doing. Avoid this shaver.

This is my second Braun shaver and it is an excellent quality unit just like my first one. The improvements in this model now make it feel about three times better to shave. Furthermore the cleaning functionality is much improved and a pleasure to use. On top of all that, I purchased this from Amazon and shipped it to Australia using a virtual mailbox, this saved me at least 45% cost including the shipping as compared to purchasing from a local vendor. Excellent shaver and a great price!
