A comfortable, affordable grey sock April 6, 2008 Ms. Swifty (Santa Fe, NM United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is my husband's favorite sock. The grey color looks good with sandals and hides the dirt when tromping through air shows or other outdoor activities. Grey is also better with dark-colored boots, where the color tends to rub off and stain white socks.
These mid-weight socks provide decent cushioning without being too bulky. They're a comfortable fit for his size 8 feet (according to the package, the "size 6-12" refers to shoe size). Amazon also has them in white; search for "Hanes classic sock".
They're not especially long-lived; a 6-pack lasts about 6 months. They usually wear through at the Achilles tendon; don't know if that is due my husband's foot/shoes, or to the sock. I wash them on "heavy duty" and dry them on high, so that probably shortens their life! Regardless, they're comfortable, affordable, and he wears them nearly every day.
Best you can get! March 31, 2008 Mark Evans Best socks one can get their feet into, so soft and comfortable. I will not buy any other type after purchasing these socks.
Not durable March 20, 2008 Bill (Bloomington, IN USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had these for less than two months and have already worn through the heel in two of the socks.
all right by me !!! December 5, 2007 Matthew G. Sherwin (last seen screaming at Amazon customer service) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
These Classic Men's Cushion Crew Socks by Hanes are very well made and they keep your feet warm. I recently started to wear these when it's cold at night and I want to sleep with socks on my feet. These crew socks can be worn for athletic activities but they're probably more suited for everyday routine wear.
These crew length socks have a reinforced heel and toe; this makes them last longer and they still feel very comfortable on my feet. The socks only come in black or grey; and that is a disappointment. However, these are relatively affordable yet good quality socks if you need black socks for work or any other occasion.
I would not dry these socks at high temperatures. High temperature drying would probably result in the socks becoming too loose on your feet. Eventually the fabric could loosen so much that the socks will "bunch up" almost as low as your ankles when you wear them--and that's very uncomfortable. Dry these socks at a lower temperature. Then they will remain just as comfortable as ever. I know mine do!
Overall, you can't go wrong buying these socks. They keep your feet extra warm during colder weather. They are manufactured so well that you definitely get more than your money's worth. Not bad at all!
